About HollyburnEwan Bennie, a seasoned professional, is your outfitter/guide at Hollyburn Deer Park. Ewan has gained a vast amount of knowledge on deer, initially through his involvement in field research for the New Zealand Forest Service as a school leaver. This led him into guiding for many of the leading outfitters in New Zealand. His practical, down to earth approach to hunting has given him a proven track record hunting in the mountains, bush and lowlands throughout New Zealand. Having represented New Zealand in Trap Shooting, Ewan is meticulous about firearms safety and coupled with his extensive hunting knowledge and expertise he has developed an outstanding reputation. Since purchasing Hollyburn Park four years ago, Ewan has enjoyed the opportunity to continue sharing his knowledge and passion for hunting with visiting hunters from around the world through Hollyburn Trophy Hunting. Ewan is a member of the NZ Hunting Guides Association, Safari Club International and Mountain Search and Rescue. Hollyburn Park prides itself on a long history of producing high calibre, world class trophy deer. Our unique "one hunting party at a time" policy ensures you will have our undivided attention throughout your hunting trip. You will be guided personally by genuine New Zealand guides, loaded with experience and highly skilled, able to present you with the very best of hunting experiences available. Accommodation is provided in a purpose built lodge in Hollyburn Park. Boasting the traditional comforts of home, the lodge is available exclusively for your hunting party. A tranquil retreat, you can relax in the peace and privacy of separate bedrooms with en-suites for your convenience. A variety of culinary delights await your tastebuds, with traditional New Zealand meals being a speciality. Companions not taking part in the hunting are very welcome at Hollyburn. If desired, we are happy to organize alternative activities. For the adventurous, you can take a jet boat ride down the famous Waiaurahiri River, charter a helicopter into the scenic wonderland of Fiordland National Park (a World Heritage Park) or explore the nearby limestone caves. Get away from it all by experiencing our native bush and abundant bird life on the world renowned Hump Ridge Track or surrender to the captivating beauty of Bluecliffs Beach. You could also consider a trip to town, where you can catch up on shopping for those back home. |
